Sound Power Testing of Domestic Heat Recovery Unit

Date: Dec, 2010
Location: Blessington, Ireland

With the rising cost of energy and increase in efficient dwellings, Heat Recovery systems are becoming an increasingly common form of ventilation in people’s homes, but, in order to ensure customer satisfaction, manufacturers of these units must ensure these systems generate low levels of noise. Brookvent Ltd., who specialise in the design and manufacture and install of mechanical ventilation and window ventilation systems in Ireland and the UK, requested testing on one of their products. Ventac’s test laboratory conducted sound power level testing on one of their domestic eat recovery units in the main reverberation chamber of the laboratory. The testing conducted produced an overall single A-weighted sound power level value with the sound power levels in the third octave frequency bands. The testing was carried out to the ISO Standard 13141 pt 7.
