Reduction of 4.6dB in Passenger Compartment on Double Deck Bus

Ventac have developed a technique that combines sound pressure level measurements with sound intensity measurements to optimise noise control strategies. This technique is especially useful on buses where the large size of the passenger compartment makes noise mapping an effective method of identifying sound paths. In the case of this double-decker bus a reduction of 4.6 decibels was measured over the rear axle in the passenger compartment.
