Our Laboratories & Research Facility allows us test and develop new and existing products for performance verification and suitability for various applications.

Typical measurements include sound transmission, impact sound, sound absorption, sound power/pressure and sound intensity. Industries currently benefiting from this facility span from architectural and building services to industrial and vehicle manufacturers.

The Laboratory Facility

 

Ventac Laboratories is one of the most advanced acoustic laboratories in Europe. It is equipped for original research and development where new designs and existing products from different industries can be tested and verified.

Products and applications can be easily modified during test sessions and re-tested. This gives way to cost effective and efficient development work at Ventac Laboratories. Acoustic performance measurements are carried our in accordance with the relevant IS EN, ISO, BS and ASTM standards.

An increasing number of well-known successful companies are working with Ventac Laboratories using this approach not only to achieve better acoustic performance, but also to improve sound quality thereby developing products with significant added value.

Chamber 1 - Large Reverberation Chamber

Size: 283m³

This chamber is primarily used for sound absorption, sound power level and attenuator insertion loss.

Chamber 2 - Vertical Suite

Size: 53m³

This chamber is primarily used for floor impact testing and intense rainfall noise testing.

Chamber 3 - Small Reverberation Chamber

 

Size: 149m³

This chamber is primarily used for sound absorption, sound power level and attenuator insertion loss.

Chamber 4 - Source Chamber

Size: 73m³

This chamber is primarily used for airborne sound insulation.

Chamber 5 - Intensity Chamber

Size: 26m³

This chamber is primarily used for airbone sound insulation.

 

Why Test In An Acoustic Laboratory

 

Noise is now one of the most common sources of pollution and, as such, many regulatory controls have been introduced governing acceptable levels in many areas.

Ventac Laboratories can carry out tests on numerous products, materials, structures and applications in a controlled environment to verify acoustic performance. In this way, precise performance data can be collated. With little effort, modifications can be made to the product or application, re-tests carried out, and results compared. Through this process, improvement can be clearly identified and highly progressive design modifications can be made to the product.

Once a design has been finalised, field tests can be employed to validate “in situ” applications. Data from both laboratory and field tests can be used to confirm compliance with various statutory regulations.
